    Blue Skies and Rainbows

    By on December 8, 2006 - Modified March 11, 2011

    Blue skies and rainbows
    And sunbeams from heaven.
Are what I can see when
My Lord is living in me.

CHORUS:Jesus is well and alive today,
He makes His home in my heart.
Never more will I be all alone since He
Promised me that we never would part.

    Green grass and flowers,
    All blooming in springtime,
    Are works of the Master
    I live for each day.

    Tall mountains, green valleys,
    The beauty that surrounds me.
All make me aware of the One
    Who made it all.

I sing it to my kids at bedtime.

When Gary Mabry was teaching at ACU (Abilene Christian University) in 1977 or 1978, this and a few other songs that he wrote were used in worship services, youth meetings, etc. They were published in a little paperback song book with a variety of other contemporary Christian songs. (Think it was called “Rejoice!”) Don’t know if they were also published in any traditional hymnals later, but they were great praise songs. Thanks for blessing us with your music, Mr. Mabry!

Hi I have been wondering about this song for years! I can still remember singing it at youth camp! I want to teach it to my kids but I only know one part. Is there any where that I can find a copy of the music?

I grew up with this song(Church of Christ). I remember it well. Wanted to see if I
could find the lyrics. The music is still there just needed the words.
Thanks Gary Mabry for a song that has stuck with me for 35 years.

        Mr. Mabry,

We have a 5 year old little girl in our congregation that would like to lead your song at the Lads to Leaders convention this year. We cannot find the sheet music anywhere. Do you have any advice?

        Thank you for your time,
        Patti James

Patti, I don’t think that Mr. Mabry actively checks this post. He might, but I doubt it.
