House Bill # 1A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
PURPOSE: To reduce the number of unqualified drivers in Georgia
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA:
Section 1. In order to be issued a class D driving license in the state of Georgia, one must pass a written and driving exam.
Section 2. The above-mentioned written test must consist of no less than 30 questions. The questions must be related to the driving laws of Georgia and common driving situations. Passing the written test is defined as correctly answering at least 90 percent of the questions.
Section 3. The above-mentioned driving test must consist of the student driving on real roads following a pre-determined route. The route must present significant challenges as to simulate normal driving experiences. Passing the driving test is defined as the student correctly following all the driving laws of Georgia, and demonstrating to the testing supervisor sufficient knowledge and skills of operating a motorized vehicle.
Section 5. All laws or parts of laws in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.
Section 6. This act shall become effective on January 1, 2007.
