This guide is rated 5 stars and will help you create bridges and tunnels for your layout. It will teach you how to build prototypes of many real life train bridges. What is neat about this book is that it gives you the history of the bridge you will be building. It is always fun to know the story behind the structure you choose to add to your set.

Overall, I have been very impressed with the quality and precision of the cuts that come from Specialized Balsa. I have also ordered from other online companies, and bought from local hobby stores but Specialized Balsa is the best. They also have limited pre-weighted sticks of balsa for competition purposes, which is great. One thing that I really thought was neat is that the balsa sheets come with a sticker with the weight on them precise to a 1/100 of a gram. Very professional.

This website is simply amazing. James Baughn has created a website featuring historic bridges across the nation. Anyone can submit photos or comments about the bridges. The navigation is brilliant. You simply click on a state, then a county. Then you are presented with a list of bridges in that county, with a thumbnail image if available.You will just have to check it out and see for yourself. I could spend hours just looking at all the cool truss bridges.

Bridge It lets you build these bridges from a variety of materials, including suspension cables. The bridges are tested by a car or train, and sometimes by an earthquake. Needless to say, since Bridge It is made in part by NVIDIA the graphics are sweet. Very visually stunning as it says.The game does cost $20 (if you buy it from http://www.chroniclogic.com/ otherwise it is more). It does have a free demo though. I would say it is worth the money.

You must have a NVIDIA graphics card. If you don’t know what that means, then find out. The game will not work if you have a ATI video card. Ask any computer geek you know and he will be able to tell you what you have.
